NEW!
Workplace Safety & Insurance Act (WSIA 101) Workshop:
"What you must know"
Note: A complimentary copy of the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act is included (Valued at $25.50)
Price: $275.00 plus GST for Members and Non-Members (Introductory Price)
The Ontario workers' compensation system (a no-fault insurance model) is financed solely by employer premiums.
What is the WSIA?
On January 1, 1998, a new Bill was introduced to replace the Workers' Compensation Act. Bill 99, the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act (WSIA), established the rights and responsibilities of an employer in cases of accidental injury, as well as a new approach to workplace injury.
An understanding of what the legislation requires, how it works and how to best manage claims, forms the fundamental basis of WSIA 101.
This workshop will provide you, as a participant, with an introduction to the critical elements of the WSIA and WSIB Operational Policy Manual as well as their application in the workplace.
The workshop will focus on:
1. How to read the Act
2. Overview of the Prevention Programs and First Aid Regulations
3. Coverage, Registration and Premiums
4. Reporting Obligations
5. Entitlement, Benefits & Service Delivery
6. Return to Work Protocols
7. Decisions, Objections & Appeals
8. Penalties and Offences
